As one of Australia’s most iconic marsupials locks eyes with its on-looker, and other mammals and reptiles observe behind eucalyptus foliage, I hope that this piece ignites a sense of recognition towards the beauty, fragility, and uniqueness of our country's flora and fauna. How can we save these creatures? How can we protect Australia’s abundant and precious biodiversity? How can we avoid the rapid rate of extinction as a result of extreme weather events brought on by climate change? - These are the questions in which I hope to instil in the viewer, because we need action…we need to act now.

HSC Major Artwork, 2015, 841 x 1189mm, watercolour and pen on canvas
My body of art work depicts our commonality to dream and fantasise no matter what religion, age, gender, culture and nationality we are. Our context determines the substance of our dreams. Whether we are dealing with the stress of modern city life, fighting for gender equality and education, hoping for a clean, sustainable future, reconnecting with out culture and ancestral roots, or striving to be closer to God and the universe, these are all dreams that instigate a better future for ourselves and others.
